About me

I am Akvilina Žemaitė - a jeweler from the seaside, a child of nature, who began her creative path with painting, and eventually found herself among precious metals, gemstones, and quietly speaking plants.
I graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a master's degree in painting, and while I was still studying on an exchange program in Zagreb, I spent my evenings not in galleries, but at the table, experimenting with electrolysis. I wanted to cover real plants with metal, to turn them into something long-lasting and sacred. When my first works attracted attention, I realized that this was my path. That's how I was born. "Sacred Forest".
This name is very personal to me. For my first jewelry, I used real nature: leaves, twigs, seeds found in the forest. The forest has always been special to me – as a child I dreamed of being a veterinarian, I would spend hours observing insects, collecting pebbles, talking to trees. This is still felt in my works – the motifs of nature have not disappeared anywhere. They have remained, even if now I work with precious metals and gemstones, which I responsibly select and bring back from foreign exhibitions.
Although I later graduated with a degree in jewelry, I consider myself almost self-taught – I learned mostly out of curiosity. When I studied in Turkey, after classes I would sit in other jewelers’ workshops and watch them work. During my internship in Norway, I learned about the cutting of stones and the subtleties of their shapes. I also learned a lot from the internet or by trying – with my own hands, patiently and without pressure.
I currently live and work in Kaunas - I have my own studio in the Old Town. This is where all my jewelry is born: plant-based, symbolic, with a bit of silence, a bit of forest, a bit of history.
I create for those who seek not only beauty, but also connection. With themselves. With nature. With time.
